Naruto: Tenchi Bridge Reconnaissance Mission Arc Review
Hello my comrades, it's a nice day or night- whatever time you are reading this. Today we talk about one of the OG TV shows, Naruto Shippuuden. I know, I know, you've seen it 500 times and you are tired of it. Well, some of us didn't finish and we forgot where we got to so we had to start all over again. Deal with it. Recently I posted my thoughts on the fight between Sakura and Sasori. Go check it out if you haven't seen it. Please watch out for SPOILERS if you haven't seen these parts yet. IKUZOR!!
So I finished watching the Tenchi Bridge Reconnaissance Mission Arc and…damn, not a dull moment in this arc. Let's start with the politics that was shown before this particular mission began. Personally I hate politics. I hate the fact that people who have no idea about the outside world get to make decisions affecting people in the outside world. Such people are loosely termed as cake eaters. That's what these village elders portrayed- pure hypocrisy. It took Tsunade being strong and smart to be able to counter their decisions. Another thing that was really fucked up was the fact that Shizune kind of betrayed Tsunade by going behind her back. I'm not gonna go into details but she really didn't try at all. Let's just say in real life situations it doesn't matter who the actual leaders are, your first allegiance is to who you work directly under even if you disagree with them. And now I think you get a fair picture of what happened.
Moving on, let's talk about Sakura for a minute. This girl fights and defeats one side villain which she had massive help for and she thinks she is the strongest murfucker out there. If it wasn't for the fact that she is a tritagonist and plot armor, my boy Kabuto would have put her on a T-shirt a long time ago. This girl keeps throwing her weights around and acting like she is a hard-core hard ass fighter.
One thing I keep wondering is; so what if Sasuke was actually kidnapped? First of all Sakura and Naruto defend Sasuke so much as if my boy doesn't try to kill them every chance he gets. And Naruto keeps putting himself in danger because of a decision that foolish boy made (yes I don't like Sasuke). Sasuke did make a decision to join the dark side because he wanted to become stronger and more powerful. He knew exactly what he was doing. It's not like he was kidnapped and brainwashed. To the extent where Naruto would be so angry and put himself in danger just because his "friend" made a decision.
There were two new characters introduced in this arc and boy one of them is a jerk. You’d hate him on first impression. Sai is supposed to be the third member of Naruro's team going into this mission since Sasuke is no longer with them. The second character happened to be Yamato. Yamato replaced Kakashi as leader of the team since Kakashi himself was wounded during his last fight. Going into this mission, I knew something wrong was going to happen. Basically, this mission was based on a piece of information Sakura got regarding Orochimaru-one of the main Villains of the show involving Sasuke. The team gets there and they see that the supposed spy happens to be Kabuto (you'll have to watch to get the full details). And that's when I knew shit was finna get real. Now with everything that happened at the bridge, I would have loved to see a fight between Kabuto and Sasori. It would have been a great fight. I mean Kabuto would win (imo), but a great fight.
Immediately these two parties meet, you know there is going to be a fight and damn that man Orochimaru is, I have no words for that nigga. Naruto gets angry, unleashes the nine tails chakra and proceeds to fight Orochimaru. In the beginning, Orochimaru seems fascinated and was basically toying with the boy but as the fight progressed he realized he had to take it seriously or he was going to endure massive damages. My guy went from underestimating Naruto to “what the fuck”.
Not long after this fight, our one and only ever so stupid Sakura decided “oh let me run towards Naruto while he is still in his kyuubi form not knowing who anybody is and what the fuck is even going on around him”, for what ever reason, Yamato who is the interim captain of the team (will talk about him in a bit) had to stop her from approaching Naruto. How dumb can someone be bro? But yeah, that’s Sakura. And even after the dust had settled and everything was back to normal, she did what she knew how to do best- bully Naruto- you heal the boy and after healing him you proceed to punch him while he is still in pain. Who the fuck does that? And people wonder why we don't like Sakura.
Let's talk about Yamato. He is one of the new characters introduced during this arc. I don't think there is much to say about him, at least not yet. There is one thing I find particularly interesting with this guy, apparently he makes clones of himself from wood and can communicate with himself through these clones. Now I find this interesting because it's like once he creates these clones they tend to have a conscience of their own. I think he uses wood as a communication device and that's weird and kinda cool at the same time.
I just love seeing Kabuto. He is such a vibe character and I like the way he rolls with Orochimaru. That boy's loyalty is like no other which makes it beautiful. He is the only follower of Orochimaru who isn't being compelled, manipulated, brainwashed or forced (as far as I know). Kabuto is with Orochimaru just because and he will genuinely die for his master even without an order, and boy is he strong. It doesn't matter who you are, this boy is not shy to throw hands with anyone at all. He is a straight up freak.
Now to our main character Naruto Uzumaki, man sometimes this boy can be so foolish and naive it makes me wonder why the show is named after him. I feel so sad for him. One thing this arc showed was how very weak Naruto is and I kept asking to myself- "what training did he do during those years with Jiraya?" Cos to me the only thing he is good at is the shadow clones, rasengan and unleashing the kyuubi's chakra, which if we are being honest doesn't do shit. Don't get me wrong. I Love this show so much but I dislike weak protagonists and Naruto so far is a weak protagonist. No wonder these power scalers say Ichigo beats Naruto and goddamn it Ichico is weak. This is why I love Jin Mori so much.
That will be all on this piece for now folks, I will definitely be back with more Naruto content and more anime stuff. Appreciate y'all for reading.
