Thoughts On Hunter X Hunter
Underestimating Gon
Before I started with Hunter X Hunter, I had heard so much about how strong Gon was. I mean in some videos and posts, he was being compared to some of the greats so I was like, "Damn can't wait to see this kid in action." But if I'm being honest, what actually got me into watching this show was Gon and Killua's friendship. Two words: Fucking Beautiful. But we'll get into that later. So I start watching this show and things seem alright, then his first encounter with Hisoka comes up. He basically made a fool out of Gon but that was understandable cos that nigga is on another level and Gon is a child, literally. Since then, I wasn't really impressed with him and what pissed me the fuck off totally was his 1v1 with Hanzo at the end of the exam but that's a whole different story. Fast forward to the Heavens Arena Arc and boy, did he grow up fast. His fighting I mean. I have come to the understanding that unlike the previous shonen anime I have watched where some MCs already have some strength to them (Jin Mori. Love that nigga), Hunter X Hunter is a journey of the MC's and some of us have to be patient.
Killua
When watching anything; be it a movie, T.V series or anime, 90% of the time the MC is not my favourite character, only on rare occasions (Jin Mori. Love that nigga) and Hunter X Hunter is no different. Killua is my highlight of the show. His vibe, his strength, and above all his loyalty to Gon. Basically their loyalty to each other but we are looking at this from Kil's perspective. If anyone asks you who or what a best friend is, Google killua for them. Trust me. Killua is not an example but rather the definition of who a besto friendo should be. In the future I am going to talk about his friendship with Gon.
Fighting smart
Even though I haven't seen a lot of major fights- up to where I am in the show- I love the way the two kids (Gon and Killua) fight. They actually use their minds more than their strengths. Typical example is Gon vs Reihvelt. This makes their fights short, simple and very entertaining, which in my opinion makes you yearn for more fights.
I know there are some over the top fight scenes and I can't wait to see them.
I really love Hunter X Hunter and I can't wait to get to the fun parts and share my thoughts with you guys. Thank you guys for reading and let me know what you think in the comments.
